SBM is the leading technology solutions provider within the kingdom. It is the largest General Marketing and Service Representative (GMSR) of IBM. As an organization, it has a comparable infrastructure and budget responsibilities. Below is a corporate timeline which highlights key development dates in SBM's history.

• 1947 - IBM established the first information-handling system in the Kingdom for the Arabian American Oil Company (ARAMCO)
• 1956 - IBM Systems Inc. established a service organization for ARAMCO
• 1968 - E.A. Juffali & Bros appointed agent of IBM
• 1981 - E.A. Juffali & Bros establish Saudi Business Machines Ltd. (SBM)
• 1983 - E.A. Juffali & Bros becomes PC dealer
• 1986 - SBM assumes limited IBM marketing representation
• 1989 - SBM becomes the nationwide General Marketing and Service Representative (GMSR) of IBM World Trade Corporation
• 1996 - SBM represents IBM in Saudi Arabia
• 1997 - Services Agreement – with IBM IGS – IBM/SBM Partnership
• 2001 - PCD amendments -
  First Technology provider in Saudi certified in ISO9002 quality standard
  2003 - IBM Distribution agreement for Iraq
• 2004-2009 - Ranked number one Telecommunication Solutions provider in the Kingdom; generating more than 50% of CISCO revenue in Saudi market
• 2009 - Installed the Super computer (Blue Gene) in KAUST
